Mathew N. Chakko, M.D

Program Director

Mathew N. Chakko obtained his medical degree from Indiana University, completed his residency at Providence Hospital, completed fellowship in Neuroradiology from William Beaumont Hospital, and holds subspecialty certification in Neuroradiology. Dr. Chakko is an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Chakko has served as residency program director since 2016, preceded by a lengthy stint as Associate Program Director. He also serves on residency and hospital research committees as well as the Michigan Radiological Society Resident Affairs Committee.

Matthew L. Osher, M.D.

ESIR Pathway Director

Matthew L. Osher is Board Certified in Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology. Following medical school at Wayne State University, he completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Providence-Providence Park Hospital. He went on to complete his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has specialized interests in interventional oncology, complex venous disease, biliary and lymphatic interventions. Dr. Osher serves on the residency research committee and is primary faculty in Interventional Radiology, overseeing the ESIR track.

Nedi Gari, M.D.

Nedi Gari obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty in Ethiopia. In 2010, she completed her residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan and in 2011 she completed her Body Imaging Fellowship from William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Gari is involved in patient safety as department QI Champion and organizer of Peer Learning, in addition to sitting on Hospital safety committees. She is also a member of the residency research committee.

Dr. Kenfe obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Addis Ababa University Medical Faculty in Ethiopia. In 2011, he completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan and in 2012 he completed his Abdominal Imaging and Cross-sectional Intervention Fellowship from University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Kenfe is involved with international outreach programs and teaching.

Division Chief, Nuclear Radiology

Dr. Roseland obtained her undergraduate degree and medical degrees from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. She completed a Radiology Residency at Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois, followed by a Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.

Division Chief, Ultrasound

Dr. James E. Selis is the chief of the Ultrasound division. Dr. Selis attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. His post-graduate medical training included a Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is registered in Vascular Technology and Vascular Interpretation by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Dr. Selis is dedicated to teaching, with emphasis in Breast Imaging and Ultrasound.

Dr. Denier is a graduate of Medical College of Ohio and completed residency at Wayne State University.

Rani Bashiti, M.D.

Rani Bashiti, M.D.

Dr. Bashiti is the program's Associate Program Director. He attended Virginia Tech for undergraduate education followed by the American University of the Caribbean for his medical degree graduating in 2013. Dr. Bashiti completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Ascension Providence Hospital and was the Chief Resident for his graduating class. He went on to complete a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Michigan in 2019. Dr. Bashiti is a recent award winner as the program’s teacher of the year. He is the department chair at Ascension Providence Rochester.

Dr. Negussie is the Department Chair and President of Southfield Radiology Associates. She served as Residency Program Director from 2008-2016. She serves as a board member for Michigan Radiological Society.

Lisa Govila, M.D.

Division Chief, Neuroradiology

Dr. Lisa Govila is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Montserrat, British West Indies. Her post-graduate medical training included a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Providence Hospital in Southfield, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year, followed by a two-year Fellowship in Neuroradiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Govila is Section Chief of Neuroradiology.

Vikram A. Kinni, M.D.

Vikram A. Kinni, M.D.

Vikram A. Kinni is a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist licensed to practice in Michigan. He obtained his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and completed his residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Following residency, he pursued a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kinni is primary faculty for the musculoskeletal rotation.

Dr. Zaiba Mapkar received her medical degree from Goa Medical College and completed Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Ascension Providence. She completed fellowship training in Body Imaging at William Beaumont Hospital with focus in musculoskeletal imaging. She was voted Teacher of the Year for 2022-23 and 2023-24.

Dr. Pomerantz is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School, and completed Diagnostic Radiology Residency and Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Evita Singh, M.D.

Associate Program Director

Evita Singh, M.D. is Associate Program Director and Section Chief of Breast Imaging. She has subspecialty training in women’s imaging (including breast, high risk obstetric imaging, abdomen and pelvic MRI and image guided procedures), completing residency at Providence and fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She serves as a board member for Michigan Radiological Society.

Medical Student Rotation Site Director

Sachit Malde is a Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist and licensed to practice in the state of Michigan. Dr. Malde attended the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor and completed an Abdominal Imaging Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Malde is Clinical Site Director for medical student core and elective rotations.

Emeritus Chair

Dr. Gonda is the Emeritus Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Past President of the Michigan Radiological Society. Dr. Gonda obtained his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Providence Hospital. Afterwards, he pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in upstate New York.

Karl Kado, M.D.

Karl Kado, M.D. attended Wayne State University for undergraduate education as well as for his medical degree, graduating in 2011. Dr. Kado completed training in Diagnostic Radiology at Oakwood/Beaumont Dearborn Hospital with a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Michigan in 2016. Dr. Kado has interest in informatics and serves on the residency research committee.

Division Chief, Musculoskeletal

Denis R. Lincoln serves as the Section Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology. Dr. Lincoln completed fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University in Body imaging with focus in Musculoskeletal imaging. Dr. Lincoln also has lengthy experience in Body and Vascular Interventional Radiology.

Eric Rinker, M.D.

Eric Rinker, M.D.

Eric Rinker attended medical school at Wayne State University and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Henry Ford Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Charles T. Dotter Interventional Institute at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Rinker has specialized interests in Interventional Oncology including kidney and liver cancer, as well as metastatic cancer to the liver, hepatobiliary interventions, uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization for BPH, and other arterial and venous interventions.

Carl Collins, D.O.

Faculty, Musculoskeletal Radiology

Dr. Collins is a graduate of Michigan State University COM. He completed residency at McLaren and musculoskeletal radiology fellowship and Corewell / William Beaumont Hospital.
